Does Poppins Payroll support nanny shares?

Yes! Poppins Payroll does support nanny shares and this article contains what you need to know about using our service with a nanny share.

If you are in a nanny share, each family is a separate employer and will need to register separately. Each family will also have to report their wages and taxes separately. For this reason, each family will need their own account with Poppins Payroll. It is not possible for both families to be registered under one account, because they will not be able to both make use of the tax documents.

With separate accounts for the families in a nanny share, each family manages their own hours and what they owe the nanny through their Poppins account. The nanny will receive a separate payment from each family. At the end of each tax period, we’ll collect and submit each family’s taxes separately.

Note: You can setup different pay rates in your account if you pay your nanny a different rate if they are watching some or all of the kids.

Required policies in a nanny share

Depending on the state you are located in, worker's compensation, paid family medical leave, disability, and other policies may be required. Since each family in a nanny share is a separate employer, separate policies will need to be obtained.
